Jane and Susie

You just might be a little surprised to find out that I really like some of the bright designs associated with 50's and 60's! Especially, the silhouettes of vintage little girls, which I lovingly call Jane and Susie, (in honour of most of my baby dolls, which I named either Jane or Susie).

I found some great 50 reproduction prints, on paper, and decided to make a few journals with them. I love the small patterns, and the bright colors.

Sweet girl, daddy's girl, sugar and spice, one rainy day, and D is for Duck all play together on the front of these books, (which could also be used as a baby shower guestbook and to record gifts with plenty of room left for mom and dad to write about the baby). I'm sure you'll agree, Susie, and Jane, are pretty sweet. If you are interested in purchasing either of these send me an e-mail through my blog contact.

Oct. Design Team Reveal

October Design Team Reveal (Giveaway)
Remember how it works? As part of Lollishops design team, I receive a package of great supplies in the mail from a sponsor, (in this case Crazy Heart ), and begin to create.
The first item I made was a journal, or guest book. Although, I don't normally work with orange colors,  I really like it. It is perfect for the month of October.

The cover of the journal is covered with a sheet of ephemera. I had items left, so I went ahead and made a second item. The second item is a photo holder. The picture can be changed as you wish, or use it for the month of October and attach a Halloween picture.

I will be hosting a giveaway for the picture holder, so leave a comment. I will also be drawing a winner from my Sept. reveal, so visit my Sept. post here and leave a comment.

Visit Crazy Heart to purchase supplies.
Visit the Lollishops Blog for links to the other desing team members and more giveaways!

Summer Roses

Summer roses are not only found in the garden, but around the home. Now, I'm not one to plaster a whole room with roses, but touches here and there can bring about a smile.

What to do with a china tea cup that has lost it's saucer? Turn it into a pin cushion. It's pretty and useful. Cups with dainty feet are certainly my favorite, but any old cup will do. Fill the cup with stuffing, trim with fabric, and add a beautiful velvet rose.

Just look at these beautiful china salt and peppers. These were an etsy "love" purchase.
A soft hanger is trimmed with a pretty velvet roses. A rose garden for the home.
These gifts were sent to a friend. I hope she enjoys!

Blessings,
Ele

Flocked Wallpaper

My hearts a flutter.

Why you ask.

Take a look.........vintage flocked wallpaper. Need I say more? These gorgeous velvety beauties were purchased from Donna Layton at Under the Red Roof.

Beautiful blue, glamorous black, and creamy yellow are my momentary favorites.

I have also found some reproduction flocked papers.

What do I create with these gorgeous papers?
A sea of journals and photo albums for an upcoming show,

soft pink keepsake boxes embellished with German scrap and vintage jewels,

a pink and taupe keepsake box,

picture frames,

and a pink and blue journal.
