Altered Clip Boards

March was a month of travel and celebration, as I celebrated my 50th birthday. It was filled with lots of heart-felt fun, and thank you to everyone who wished me a happy day, and made my day great.

Still, it does feel good to be back making a big mess on my work table, getting my fingers sticky with glue, and sharing my creations with you.

Yes, I use clipboards. Nerdy, clipboards, but as you see.......mine are pretty. They are altered, vintage inspired, and blinged.  The collage surface is modge podged for a smooth, wipe-able surface.

I use clipboards to hold my papers, bills, and even scraps of paper for crafting.

Seam binding, charms, and a key are added, and of course, vintage jewels.

Blessings,
Ele

Let Your Heart Soar

Most likely, my last heart collage of the season! Wherever your heart is this Valentines Day; with friends, family, or someone special. Let it Soar!

Hugs and Blessings,

Valentines, already?

I'm not really trying to push Valentines on you, but as you saw in my last post, I am surrounded by a lot of snow. What does this have to do with Valentines? The snow has reminded me of the glass glitter I used last year when making Valentines (2nd row, 1st pic.). When the sun hits the snow, it glistens just like glass glitter. The snow is really quite beautiful.

1. Valentine Medallion (lrgc), 2. Valentine Key Heart (a), 3. Valentine Girl Tag, 4. Valentine Heart Gold Key (a), 5. Valentine Tussie Mussie Pink Roses, 6. Valentine Glass Glitter Heart, 7. Valentine Tags, 8. Valentine Pink Box, 9. Valentine Heart Gold Key, 10. Valentine Rhinestone Tussie Mussie, 11. Valentine Dress Form Tag, 12. Valentine Key Heart small, 13. Valentine Key Hearts

In many of these creations I have used vintage wallpaper (my favorite kind of paper), and vintage millinery flowers. I have also used various types of keys to go with a "key to my heart" theme. If you haven't used glass glitter before, remember it is REAL glass and will cut, so use it carefully. It is not for little hands.

Happy January,

Ele

"The Bike"

I'm sure most of you have seen pictures of "the bike". It happened like this,(as I was driving down the city street in my trusty black pickup):

Me- "Do you see what someone threw away?"
Pink Girl- "you've got to be kidding, no mom, NO!"
Me- "it's an amazing vintage bike"
Pink Girl- "isn't it illegal to steal someone's trash"?
ME-"I have to have that bike and they don't want it. It's in the middle of their trash pile".
Pink Girl has now retired to the floor of the pickup and is trying to crawl under the seat.
Friend from back seat- "do you need help"?.

This was the beginning of my beloved life with "the bike". It stands proudly on the porch of my shop/studio/old church building. I change the flowers in the basket according to season. It makes me smile.

DREAM KEYS (new in my shop)

Keys have long been the symbol for success, or dreams. To me, it's more then that. The "key" is letting someone in (opening the door), or someoneone else letting you in. The key is not linked to a monitary item, but of sharing emotion; sympathy, empathy, happiness, compassion, joy and even sadness. So dream. Dream that you may truly benefit those around you. Open the door.

Valentine Hearts

i participated in Dolly's My Vintage Heart Swap. My partner is Kathy from Country Chintz. We were to send a containter filled with "heart" items. This is what I sent her.

I embellished the heart box with German scrap trims and millinery flowers. The "key to my heart" was also made by me and is embellished with a vintage key and vintage wallpaper.
