Cottage Garden-2

This is my second post on vintage items in a cottage garden. I picked this bike up for $5 at a rummage sale. I had to go back to town with a pickup to haul it home, but it was worth it. I put a basket on the front...It reminds me of the Wizard of Oz. "I'll get you (the bike that is) my pretty!

An old garden pump sits in my garden. I dug down a little in the soil, stacked bricks with a little cement between, placed the pump down in the dirt a little, added more dirt and planted pansies.

An old wicker chair lost it's seat, so I positioned a pot inside that is planted with ivy. We have had so much rain that the ivy started to turn yellow:(

"How does your garden grow", antique wooden box. My niece made this beauty. I plan to add geraniums.

In the corner of the garden is an old wooden post. It once was the home to a country mailbox.

I have three garden boxes made of railroad ties. They are planted with lettuce, peas, spinach, radishes, dill, sunflowers, and a few herbs.

The church building in the background is my studio. This is where my items are crafted. LOOK AWAY FROM THE MUCH NEEDED PAINT JOB! An old bench also sits under a window.

Sweet Things!

Things that I think are sweet....

...vintage rhinestone jewelry, teacups and china (especially with roses on them), and antique lace tablecloths. I'm so happy it's spring and the rummage sale, flea market season has started!

Vintage Cards

So sweet...are the childhood cards that my dear mother saved for me. They are now considered vintage, as the "She's a Doll," baby announcement is 45 years old. Sweet girls in bonnets, cut out card shapes, a bunnny with a foofy 3D tail. Given by some relatives that are no longer with us. Cherished signatures of the past. A few years ago, I found this reproduction card holder. I think it does the trick. I love vintage ephemera, even if was not originally mine. There is always an unknown story behind it and besides, vintage cards are so sweet!
