Fall and Halloween

I've been working on listing fall and Halloween items on my etsy. Here is a sneak peek.

In response to the questions on the spoons, here is a close up picture.

The end of the wire is twirled into a loop. I then continue to make a few circles around that loop. Start at the bottom and wrap the wire tightly around the spoon and secure the end piece by bending it around the next wrap. Wrap and add beads tightly going all the way up the spoon and then cross over on the way down. I have seen several variations of this. You can even add lead free soldering wire. I like to use glass beads as they are dainty, sparkley and wash well. Need more pics to make your own beaded silverware? Just e-mail me through my profile.

Tussie Mussie & Christmas in July

There has been a lot of swap creating going on in my church studio lately. The tussie mussie swap from the junk drawer and Angelina's card's Christmas in July swap are two in which I am participating. Dolly and Joy, if you want a surprise don't peek!

The tussie mussie is filled with shells, something my partner likes. I also plan to add another surprise, but I'm not telling incase she is reading this! If you look closely, you will see the handle is trimmed in aqua/green little seashells and sparkley pink beads. My favorite part is the rhinestone trim.

These are a few of the Christmas in July cards that I created for my partner. I actually created a card that isn't pink, but it does sparkle:)

Cottage Garden-2

This is my second post on vintage items in a cottage garden. I picked this bike up for $5 at a rummage sale. I had to go back to town with a pickup to haul it home, but it was worth it. I put a basket on the front...It reminds me of the Wizard of Oz. "I'll get you (the bike that is) my pretty!

An old garden pump sits in my garden. I dug down a little in the soil, stacked bricks with a little cement between, placed the pump down in the dirt a little, added more dirt and planted pansies.

An old wicker chair lost it's seat, so I positioned a pot inside that is planted with ivy. We have had so much rain that the ivy started to turn yellow:(

"How does your garden grow", antique wooden box. My niece made this beauty. I plan to add geraniums.

In the corner of the garden is an old wooden post. It once was the home to a country mailbox.

I have three garden boxes made of railroad ties. They are planted with lettuce, peas, spinach, radishes, dill, sunflowers, and a few herbs.

The church building in the background is my studio. This is where my items are crafted. LOOK AWAY FROM THE MUCH NEEDED PAINT JOB! An old bench also sits under a window.

Sweet Things!

Things that I think are sweet....

...vintage rhinestone jewelry, teacups and china (especially with roses on them), and antique lace tablecloths. I'm so happy it's spring and the rummage sale, flea market season has started!
