Cupcake toppers

I have been making cupcake toppers. They are not only fun to make, but FUN TO USE! Stick these picks into pieces of cake, cupcakes, or brownies.

DIY PROJECT: CUPCAKE TOPPERS

CRAFT TIP:  Use a craft punch or machine to cut out the two large scalloped shapes, also use cocktail toothpicks as they are longer the regular toothpicks.

Supplies:
  • cardstock, or heavy glitter paper
  • computer images, images from cards, decorative scrapbook paper, stickers,
  • craft glue (I like liquid)
  • cocktail toothpicks
  • two scalloped medallion craft punches; lrg. and med.
Instructions:
  1. Cut out two large scalloped medallions of glitter paper or heavy cardstock
  2. Cut out one medium scalloped medallion of printed images or decorative scrapbook paper, (for the center of your pick).
  3. Insert a toothpick between the two lrg. medallions and glue medallions together.
  4. Glue med. medallion in the center of one lrg. medallion, or simply place a sticker in the middle.
  5. Let dry, or
purchase from me.....gag, barf, gag!!!

Really.....have fun making your cupcake toppers and please share pictures!

  10. EEEEEKS! I'm GLAD you shared because I was OBVIOUSLY looking at the wrong thing when I went to check out the toppers you mentioned in your email. I WONDERED how those lil' flowers went on the cupcakes. DUH! I LOVE these, Ele! I can think of SO many ways to use them, too! (I don't make cupcakes but I WANT to make the toppers so I had to think creatively. LOL!) And NO ONE would gag, barf, or otherwise regurgitate over ANYTHING you do, sweet girl!

  20. Oh Ele that is so funny, I laughed and smiled from start to finish.
I hate it when you can't find the camera cord. I now leave mine hanging out of the desktop computer. Before that if I couldn't find it I would have to take the card out of my camera and put it in the card reader on the computer

  21. Did you use glitter or glitter paper because glitter takes a certain skill I do not possess.

  22. Ele, those toppers are really sweet and would make darling ornaments also.
In the previous post, I have made so many of those plate stands and used small ones to make a Hershey cake. If I can find the picture, I could explain it better. I just love seeing all you make. It's such a joy and I wish someone could get me motivated to craft again. Hugs, Pat

  42. Hello,
Have you found your cord yet?? You really don't need your camera cord.... If you use a device called a 'card reader'.. you just put your camera card into the card reader which is on an USB cord and it will come up on your computer.. love this device.. check it out they cost is from $30. and up.. and sold most any where.
