Embellish a candle with a strip of green ribbon.
Craft Tip: Tack a ribbon to a candle by using upholstery tacks, or a short pin. Gently tap the tack through the ribbon, into the candle with a hammer. This same idea can be done with a strip of paper or fabric. Make sure you keep the decor far from the flame!
I have Irish in my heart and in my genes. In memory of my father, my favorite Irishman, I celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Many years have passed, but hardly a day goes by that I don't think of my dear father. On St. Patrick's Day, he dressed in his green suit and green sequined bow tie. He gave me flowers, and brought joy to everyones' day.
With green on my mind, I thought I would share some green rooms.
A non matchy color scheme works when you stay on the same side of the color wheel and pair it with neutrals.
Soft green and yellow will provide a soothing palate. A dramatic pop of red fabric on the stool behind the couch, brings interest to this room.

Great post-I am sure your good ole dad is smilin upon ya! Happy St. Patty's Day!~Smiles~Tam!
I really do like that color combonation...green and white...the hutch picture was very cool.
Happy St Patricks day, I am a little late, I know...
I love the memories of your father, he sounds a real gentleman...I visited Dublin with work many years back and I loved the place, I would love to go there for a short break but its very expensive at the moment...
I just pray that the "real IRA" don't get the public support again, I remember the first lot of troubles as a child and I really don't want to re-live it as an adult... what with 2 British solidiers and an Irish policeman shot dead in the past fortnight, we can only hope the people responsible are caught...
Take care
X Alex
Ele,
isn't it something how us Mid-western girls miss green! pretty post! Love, Lori P.S. Have you ever tried those candle rub-ons? I had some cherub one sand they came out sweet!
Ele, sounds like your dad was a wonderful and fun man to be around. Happy late St. Patty's day from one Irish lady to another.

Oh Ele,
I just loved the green back painted cupboard. Happy belated St Patricks Day to you :))
Ele, I love the "simplicity" of the candle, so pretty. Thanks for sharing pretty pics of green.
Your father must have been a wonderful and fun-spirited person! I love the vision of him in his St. Paddy's attire, giving you flowers! And Ele, you constantly inspire me to be more aware of my surroundings. I love red & green and never really considered how something like soft greens & yellows could be every bit as pretty to me and infinitely more soothing & elegant! I studied those pictures as tho' I were going to be TESTED later. LOL! But the fact IS, I learned! Thank you, sweet girl!
hey Lady, I sent you a little package today, hope it arrives by tuesday,
Hugs,
Judy

Love green. It's one of those colors that I just don't think you can go wrong with. It offers color but yet it's a neutral. Goes with just about anything. Signifies nature. Nice choices! I've got some Irish in me as well.
cheers, susan
