Details

Minimalism can be fresh and clean, but it's the fine details that draw me in, make me get closer, provide interest, and make something truly worthy of more then just a glance.

A little rhinestone, crinkled ribbon, paper flowers, buttons, a piece of jewelry, a splash of glitter, and some words of truth are the details that I am loving today.

XOXO, Ele

Mixed Media Baby Boy Ornament

I was asked last month to make a 2012 ornament for a little baby boy due in January 2013. I pulled out some of my favorite supplies and this is what I created:

There isn't a name yet, so BABY would have to do!

A story book puppy, and kitten, and hanging from blue and white gingham ribbons; a teddy bear, and toy car.  It says 2012. The year this little boy's mama felt him grow and kick.

The final creation.
I also made a girl ornament for this customer's granddaughter. Stay tuned as I reveal that to you next time!

Blessings,
Ele

Birdies in the Treetops Mixed Media Canvas

A $30 canvas, a little paint, a bit of scrapbook paper, quite a few hours of time, and I turned a plain apartment wall into...
a happy place:)

I used the words of a song I used to sing to my babies, "the birdies in the treetops sing their song," as inspiration. My girl picked out the colors she wanted in this mixed media collage, and I love the blue/turquoise sky with the barn red couch.

"The birdies in the treetop sing their song. The angels chant their chorus all day long. The flowers in the garden blend their hue, so why can't I and why can't you sing praises too."

I hope you all have a blessed week.
Ele

Sorry the pictures are a little blurry and have bad lighting :(

Silent Night Mixed Media Art

I've been working on Christmas tree mixed media art (collage), and I decided "Silent Night" is what I wish for my friends on the East Coast. Thoughts and prayers for all of you.

I will be at the "Big One" starting Friday, so stop in  for a visit.

Prayerfully,
Ele
