Kitchen Curtains & Great Rugs

The kitchen window and my favorite red chairs received a makeover.

You can see the part of the valance that used to be on the window, below. The table is turned a different direction. The fabric that used to be on the chairs is a little more subdued.
I love the black and taupe fabric. You can't really see it, but this fabric has beautiful texture. The black is velvety and raised. I sewed the damask fabric to the top of a gorgeous silk that matches the wall color exactly.

CSN Rugs.com has a variety of area rugs available. I'm thinking of this one,

but also like these-

Make sure you visit the link above. They have a large variety of styles.
Which one do you think I should get?
Blessings, Ele

HA! ME? Ms. 'Mix & Match' Kai give YOU an opinion about ANYTHING to do with decorating? Ele, you have THE most perfect eye for putting things together beautifully! Your new dining room look is just lovely, & ALL the rug patterns would really coordinate with the decor! PERSONALLY, I like the one with the touch of red because I think it would bring out the gleam of the chairs. But I KNOW you will choose exactly the right one! I also know if ever I am lucky enough to get to visit you, I will walk around your gorgeous home with my big mouth opened WIDE, saying, "OOOOOOOOH!!!! AHHHHHH!" until you smack me! LOL!

Oh Ele, I LOVE those chairs and curtains!! How pretty! You did such a good job. the red of the chairs really pop with the black and white! I like the first two rugs, but I think the one you picked would look the best. I cant wait to see!

Oh Ele, it is MARVELOUS! In my Designer opinion (which doesn't count for much lol!) I would get the second rug...I think it would pull out the reds in the chair and allow you to pull other colors should you paint over the red etc...I do love the first one the best but I think it may be a bit neutral. Of course I cannot see the rest of the room, so I am basing it on just what you have shared in photos.

Have so much fun with this. I LOVE making over rooms! You need to get with Tiffany. They just bought a house there and are in the middle of remodeling it. I think it is an old victorian. She is not on her blog much, but I imagine it is from how busy they get with all the projects. She would love local help on where to shop I am sure! I hope to come visit soon, and we will have to plan a get together!

Hello Ele, how pretty everything looks, you have a great eye for decorating! I like the first rug the best. I love your curtains. In your previous post I love your leaded glass window. We met a lady at the beach last year that has an antique store and sells them. She took Ed and I on a tour of her home and I wished I had my camera. She had one hanging in front of every window, no curtains in her house, she used rippled ones in bathroom, then she also used them as dividers in rooms. Just beautiful!
Love ya, Shirl

First time to your blog! Love your taste in decorating. I prefer the middle rug -- has some other colors that add a bit of pop to the design.

I love what you have done. But then black and white are my two favorite color combinations. It's what I have done my whole house in! I really like the first two rugs. But the third would work fine too. I sure enjoy following your blog. Hope you get a chance to check my out some time.

Ele, this room is just beautiful! I soooo love the new drapes! You just can't beat that damask look! I vote for the first rug if you want a classic look, the 2nd if you want more informality for the room!! I don't think you'd go wrong with either.
