July Wedding

Summer weddings were a time for family, friends, and of course LOVE. This glamorous July wedding started with an incredibly beautiful black and white appliqued dress by Allure, and this bride had exactly the right personality and look to pull off this complete package of gorgeousness.

Dress: Allure, Mary Me Bridal, Minot ND
Colors of black, white, and red, along with a wine glass theme helped this reception sparkle.

Decorating: A Bit of Heaven
Cake: Lalee Cakes

Over 100 wine glasses became pillar, votive candle holders, and cake stands. Along with the glasses, crystal vases, and glittering rhinestone broaches,  a whole lot of love brought everything  together to make this one glamorous wedding.

O Christmas Tree

A Christmas Tree Wish...
in a shadow box sparkles with neutral colored ephemera.
Ephemera (plural): paper items (posters, tickets), that were originally meant to be discarded after use but have since become collectibles.

Shades of soothing cream, beige, and black along with the velvety texture of vintage wallpaper sit behind a glass frame. Can be hung on the wall, or free standing on a table.

"O Christmas Tree,  O Christmas Tree....."
A few new items are finding their way into my shop.

I am also adding a few supplies, such as paper posies, so that you can use them on your own creations. Currently Lollishops shopping cart is not working, so if you want anything from my store, just e-mail me.

Blessings,
Ele

Holstein Chair

HE called MY chair redo a Holstein. Are you serious? Darling, have you been farming/ranching a little too much?

The joy of recovering furniture is that you can plan EXACTLY how you want it to look. Yes Dear, I planned the chair to look this way. The cushion can be either white or black, or shall we say Jersey or Angus! Which do you prefer?

This is how the arm chair looked before it was reupholstered. It was covered in golf fabric and resided in a bedroom. This chair has big sturdy arms, yards of upholstery tack, and is comfortable. The logical choice was to reupholster and reuse. Plus, reupholstering cost less then buying new AND I was able to choose the design. The side chair was moved to the main floor family room.

Remember the new chandelier. It has been hung.

Holstein? It just had to be a compliment.

Chandelier Crystals

It's my mother's fault, really. There are genes in my family for crystal, and chocolate.
The following experiments show scientific proof:
  • Place two food items in front of said mother, (make sure one is chocolate). Chocolate will be immediately picked up and transferred from hand to mouth. This experiment has been conducted thousands of times with many variables. Different food items, and even change of environment does not yield different results. Chocolate is always the food of choice.

  • Take said mother to a store that is new to her, and she will head right to the crystal department. The woman can "smell" her way straight to the Waterford. Again, this experiment has been conducted over and over....same results.

  • Gifts of chocolate or crystal given to my mother produce squeals of delight, (if you want proof I'm sure there's a video recording somewhere!).

So, it's really not my fault that the new chandelier I picked out for my family room looks like this:

Crystal prisms are usually associated with white chandeliers in the shabby chic style. Traditional gold chandeliers look gorgeous draped in crystal prisms. I chose a black rod iron chandelier because my Asian cabinet is black. Even though the chandelier and cabinet are not the same style, the black ties them together. Remember when mixing styles, make sure the pieces have at least one thing in common. In this case, the color black.

The crystal drops satisfy "the gene". Thanks mom! Decorating with crystal prisms doesn't have to be expensive. Prisms hung from a simple candle holder look great. This chandelier isn't actually up yet, as Mr. Pink Heaven will have to hard wire it for me. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it actually lights up!

For now, I'll just stare at the prism bling while I eat my chocolate.

Kitchen Curtains & Great Rugs

The kitchen window and my favorite red chairs received a makeover.

You can see the part of the valance that used to be on the window, below. The table is turned a different direction. The fabric that used to be on the chairs is a little more subdued.
I love the black and taupe fabric. You can't really see it, but this fabric has beautiful texture. The black is velvety and raised. I sewed the damask fabric to the top of a gorgeous silk that matches the wall color exactly.

CSN Rugs.com has a variety of area rugs available. I'm thinking of this one,

but also like these-

Make sure you visit the link above. They have a large variety of styles.
Which one do you think I should get?

Flocked Wallpaper

My hearts a flutter.

Why you ask.

Take a look.........vintage flocked wallpaper. Need I say more? These gorgeous velvety beauties were purchased from Donna Layton at Under the Red Roof.

Beautiful blue, glamorous black, and creamy yellow are my momentary favorites.

I have also found some reproduction flocked papers.

What do I create with these gorgeous papers?
A sea of journals and photo albums for an upcoming show,

soft pink keepsake boxes embellished with German scrap and vintage jewels,

a pink and taupe keepsake box,

picture frames,

and a pink and blue journal.

New Decor, celebrate Mom & Baby!

I have been working on some decor for a baby shower. The color theme is black and soft pink. I really enjoyed this order as the colors are delightful. The first item is a crown for the new mom. A vintage pink jewel is displayed front and center on a paper medallion.
There are ribbons, tiny flowers, and glittery letters on this crown.

This bunting has quite a few flags of pink, black and white that spell out the baby's name in silver glitter. A journal/guestbook/photo album is embellished with vintage wallpaper, ribbon, and a little bling! A little redecorating has been going on at Pink Heaven. The sitting room has a fresh coat of soft blue paint, furniture has been recovered, and a new coffee table is afoot! The room isn't finished yet. I'm still waiting for two french chairs with whitewashed arms and white cane backs. I'm also sewing window treatments, so I better get to work!

I chose a creamy white embossed fabric for the couch. The chair is a blue and taupe damask fabric.
A white pumpkin is added to a side table for a little seasonal decor.
Love how the mirrors look on the icy blue walls.
