Storage for Creative Spaces

I'm talking storage for your supplies and not the kind in a plastic bin stuck under the table. Unfortunately, supplies in my creative space that have been put in storage bins have suffered from severe depression due to lack of use. Poor babies.

SEE it + RETRIEVE it = a FUNCTIONAL space

Stack ribbons according to color on a wall shelf.

Grab plant stands or any table height containers that have an open top. Roll trims and lace on cardstock tubes. Place vertically in containers and every tube will be visible. Happy trims? You bet.

This space is located in my antique church building.

Every space needs to store a little bit of pretty. Part of my tea cup collection is housed in a glass cabinet above a work table. Function? Simply inspiration.

A few paper doll ornaments from a swap and a tussie mussie made by me also offer inspiration.

Vintage jewels, buttons, yo yos, glitered letters, and more are within reach and highly visible stored in glass jars. See it, and retrieve it.

I have had questions about the frame that sits on top of the hutch. It is a framed piece of fabric. The frame was spray painted to match the fabric. Heavy fabric was used and attached to the back of the frame with upholstery staples. Glass was not used.

Fall weather has been beautiful in the midwest. Harvest is underway on our farm and we have been enjoying many meals out in the field. The gorgeous prairie and blue skies go on forever. I wish I could bottle some up for you! Along with harvest my pink girl and I have been getting ready for a show. It will be located in my neighbors beautiful barn. If you live close by stop in next weekend at the Crafters Barn and say hi!

Have a beautiful day,
Ele

Bird Swap with Fleur De Bee

I LOVE that school is out, and I LOVE Bird Swaps. What does one have to do with the other? Every morning, I drink a double shot latte in bed, (that Mr. Pink Heaven prepares for me). I open the window to listen to the sound of the birds, and sip away. Ah, life is good.

Molly of Fleur De Bee and I had a private swap with what else, a bird theme! Look at the beautiful nest she created for me!
What is inside the nest? Beautiful silvered eggs, a fan of sheet music, a vintage pin, and luscious ribbons are found in this nest. It's a lucky bird that lives here!
I love the rounded diamonds she uses here. I don't think princess cut diamonds would have
accented it quite as well. She's such an artist!
Oh my, she's quite the looker too! This mama bird is all dolled up with a foofy pink hairdo and a silvered beak!
She has come to watch over her precious eggs.
Sitting atop a glass pedestal trimmed in yards of pink crepe paper and hydrangea flowers, this birdy is quite happy.....and so am I!

Pretty Jar

Embellished Glass Jar-
Easily decorated with seam binding, millinery flower, and a vintage jewel.

CRAFT TIP: Use three pieces of seam binding. Tie the first piece around the neck of the bottle and finish with a regular bow (the same way you tie your shoes!). Do the same with the second ribbon. Take the third piece of ribbon and tuck it behind the knots of the two bows (top to bottom). Bring the center of the ribbon directly behind the knots. Tie the ribbon ends into a single knot and bow on top of the other ribbons. This will stabilize all the ribbons and give you a base so that you can glue on your embellishments. Use a good glass glue like Omni Stick and glue on vintage jewels, millinery flowers, etc.

I found these glass jars for 80% off. They will be used to store items on my vanity.

Blessings to you,
Ele

What's in the Jar?

Strolling down a store aisle, I spied some glass jars @ 75% off! We all know that these are a MUST HAVE in decorating and organizing. I already have a couple of glass containers in my sitting room, so these beauties will go in my studio to hold bits and baubbles of supplies.

First, I wanted to show you a few things that you can display in your own jar.
