Looking for Spring

It's the time of year when I start to look for Spring and unfortunately, where I live, it's buried under several feet of snow. The logical thing to do is to find a beach in Mexico, a comfy chair, a hardcover copy of Wuthering Heights, and at various intervals stand up, click red high heels together and say, "I don't want to go back home, I don't want to go back home, I don't want to go back home".

Mexico, comfy chair, book...all realized, and wonderful. The clicking of high heels... apparently does not work without a fairy godmother, so back home I go.

Once back home, I again looked for Spring.
This time I found it in the summer grass of a photograph of  dd,

a milk glass pedestal with seashells,

a glass vase filled with treasures of the ocean,

a starfish accompanied by tarnished silver,

and speckled blue eggs in a white birdcage.

I guess Spring can be found, if we look really hard.

It's not too early to display some of those items that help you "feel" like it's Spring. Do you remember where they're stored? If not, remember, you can always search for Spring on http://www.etsy.com/

PS: Thought you might ejoy seeing a couple of pictures of a wedding reception being set up on the beach. After dark, the torches and lanterns were lit. It was a gorgeous sight.

Blessings,
Ele

More Sweet Tweet Swap Gifts

From Vintage Patina, I received a vintage raspberry crate filled with bird goodies!

One of my favorite items include a silver ladle altered with a bird's nest, eggs, millinery and ribbon. So perfect for me!

I received this bookmark charm-set that says, "farm girl" and on the other side, "plays in dirt'. Isn't that great? I LOVE it, cause I am a farm girl and occasionally....play in the dirt! Visit Vintage Patina to see all the beautiful items in the basket!

Lucky me!
Blessings, Ele

Bird Swap with Fleur De Bee

I LOVE that school is out, and I LOVE Bird Swaps. What does one have to do with the other? Every morning, I drink a double shot latte in bed, (that Mr. Pink Heaven prepares for me). I open the window to listen to the sound of the birds, and sip away. Ah, life is good.

Molly of Fleur De Bee and I had a private swap with what else, a bird theme! Look at the beautiful nest she created for me!
What is inside the nest? Beautiful silvered eggs, a fan of sheet music, a vintage pin, and luscious ribbons are found in this nest. It's a lucky bird that lives here!
I love the rounded diamonds she uses here. I don't think princess cut diamonds would have
accented it quite as well. She's such an artist!
Oh my, she's quite the looker too! This mama bird is all dolled up with a foofy pink hairdo and a silvered beak!
She has come to watch over her precious eggs.
Sitting atop a glass pedestal trimmed in yards of pink crepe paper and hydrangea flowers, this birdy is quite happy.....and so am I!

What's in the Jar?

Strolling down a store aisle, I spied some glass jars @ 75% off! We all know that these are a MUST HAVE in decorating and organizing. I already have a couple of glass containers in my sitting room, so these beauties will go in my studio to hold bits and baubbles of supplies.

First, I wanted to show you a few things that you can display in your own jar.

sea shells and eggs

miniature Madame Alexander dolls

fabric yo yos

pink shredded paper

miniature tea set

sheet music tied up with ribbons

silver candleholders

lemons and oranges

silverware

crepe paper bird nests

cake decorating supplies

I'd love to hear your ideas!

Update: Be sure to read the wonderful comments. There are some really fantastic ideas!

For the Birds

I've noticed a little theme going on in my house lately, so I present to you..."for the birds!"

The kitchen table seems to have gone to the birds. Who wouldn't love to live in this mosaic mirrored house?

Look closely at the wire urn and you will see that Mrs. Robbin has laid her blue beauties in a nest.

Peace of Earth....stays up all year at our house.

A Bird's got to eat! A tasty sunflower treat.

I bought this little birdie the other day. She's not the prettiest tweetie, but she really wanted to come home with me. I've promised her a crown and a floral necklace.

My cottage chic friends, I have not forgotten you. Here's a gaggle of geese in a corner bathroom cabinet...

I know some of you have seen this before, the little collage made by Lori, and these sweet eggs. I just had to show them again. It's a sweet thing!

Where I live we can't plant outside until the end of May, so these little seedlings will still have more time to grow inside.

Hope everyone had a happy Sunday!
