White Wednesday Style

While on a little vacation, I entered a shop that literally, for a moment, took my breathe away. Farm tables (too big to fit in the car), and beautiful creamy white and ivory papers. There were French books, packets of ephemera, stacks of slightly yellowed cards inscribed with beautiful words, placemats, and lined tablets.

A large book of tear out placemats and a lined tablet filled with gathered thoughts were quickly purchased by mwa, (I really love all the glorious shades of "white" paper).

Placemats aren't just for breakfast anymore. I can see a wrapped gift box, (think bridal shower), drawer liners, a kitchen picture, kitchen bulletin board background paper, or even used as a runner for my revamped table,

Each page of the "Gathered Thoughts" stack shares a little bit of daily inspiration. Who knows where this paper will end up, but I'll be sure to point it out to you when it happens!

I've been waiting for you, my lovely.

I love vintage mirrors. They are heavy, not plastic, and I am particularily fond of gold French Rococo as I like paring it with neutral shades, textures and even something a little rustic. If you look in the mirror, you will see the wall where this beauty will be placed.
ps: no I don't have a baby, that's a dog gate!

So the day I received this mirror, went like this:
  •  go to an auction with husband and son
  •  leave the auction with husband because I am tired, (insert yawn)
  • tell son a couple of things that I like, but no need to get the mirror
  • text from son said, "you liked the gold mirror, right?"
  • "It's yours"
Awe, it's mine.

Now, if that child of mine could find this little French Rococo styled headboard at an auction for $20.00 we'd be in business!

Je t'adore

Je t'aime, I love you, Je t'adore, I adore you, Tu es ma joie de vivre,  You are the joy of my life, Tu es mon mon amour, You are my love, Mon amour pour toi est éternel, My love for you is eternal, Mon amour pour toi est si grand que le Mond, My love for you is as grand as the world...

When talking about Valentines Day, I just couldn't resist sharing a bit of the French love language  with you.

Valentines with crinkled seam binding, vintage jewels, crepe ruffles, and glass glitter,  just might say, "Je t'aime".

Je t'adore, I adore you.

I adore you for being a follower and for your words of encouragement.

Arm Chairs in Neutral Textures

French Chairs+Velvety Fabric in Beige+Textured Trims in Various Shades of Neutral=

Three layers of trims; vintage ecru lace, silky tan trim, and tea stained burlap cording. The trims add to the chair's French look.

CRAFT TIP: Save the fabric you take off the chair to use for a pattern. Cut out fabric and secure over foam seat with staple gun. Pleat (fold), and ease fabric around chair form. Staple the bottom two laters of trim on the front of the chair. GLUE top layer of trip on top of other trims. This will hide staples. Use E6000, or glue 9000 and be careful not to get glue on fabric. Really, it's easy!

These chairs will go into the newly redecorated sitting room.

More Sweet Tweet Swap Gifts

From Vintage Patina, I received a vintage raspberry crate filled with bird goodies!

One of my favorite items include a silver ladle altered with a bird's nest, eggs, millinery and ribbon. So perfect for me!

I received this bookmark charm-set that says, "farm girl" and on the other side, "plays in dirt'. Isn't that great? I LOVE it, cause I am a farm girl and occasionally....play in the dirt! Visit Vintage Patina to see all the beautiful items in the basket!

Lucky me!
